I haven't been on here in a quite a few years. I am Meredith Hensman married name Witt hince the name Henswitt. It is so nice to see this discussion still going after all of these years. Ok My father is Richard Hensman he has no middle name. His father was Aurther Hensman his father was henry hensman his father was aurthor and so on and so on. My fathers mother named him richard to anger the hensman family and break the tradition of henry aurther henry aurther. My father had three children Robert, Heather, and Meredith. As I stated before our family as far as I know originated in bozeat england. I am unsure as to how and why they migrated to the USA but here we are. My father has one sister named Alice. My Borther Robert has two children who's names I will not mintion due to the fact that they are still minors and I have not asked my brother's permission. One of his children is a boy ( to carry on the name) This seems to be the curse of my family, There is always only one boy to carry on the name acording to my father. My father did a lot of research on the Hensman family many years ago he is not very comfort able with computers though. If anyone has any questions about info that Richard Hensman has, I will contact him and post his answers. I will try to be helpful and log on a lot more than I have in the past. I wish us all good luck in searching for eachother.

Hello Brian
I have only just started on this family tree quest but we have relatives in common.  My Mum was born Iris Hensman.  Her Mother was Alice West from Dorking, she married James Peters Hensman (born 1891) of Willesdon.  His parents were Mary Elizabeth Peters from Broughty Ferry near to Dundee and John Henry Hensman who was born in 1862 in Montreal, Canada.  The parents of John Henry were Boswell and Clara Hensman but I have got no firther back than that.  I have found a baptism record for John Henry in Portland that lists Boswell as living in Guildford but also serving on HMS Boscawen, this may have been a training ship for boys.  I have various census records for the family in Willesden.  Also I knew John Henry to be an Art Dealer, he had a shop at the back of Bond Street that is now a Vivian westwood shop.  If anyone else has any information then let me know.
Hello Hensman searchers.
The Hensman family was also big in Kimbolton in the 1800's. I have an interest in the Hensmans who have the given name Boswell. This carries on for five generations, starting with Boswell and Sarah of Kimbolton in 1805, when they had christened their son Boswell. Their marriage is so far not traced, and neither can I find Boswell's father. This branch of the family were in the legal profession and spent some time in Canada around 1862 before returning to England. Can anyone help in tracing the early Boswell?

Just wanted to change the ref to my website

Hello there,
This is probably a bit wide of the mark but I am doing research on the watercolour painter, Hugh Williams [1773-1829]. I now suspect that he may have married Louisa Hensman on 1 July 1798 at Old St. Pancras Church in London. He may at that time have been working in the theatre, doing scene painting and some acting and he and his new wife also made costumes.

I would like to make contact with anyone who knows about Louisa and her family.

If you would like to see some of my work on Williams see my website:

Cheers,
Joe Rock
