Can anybody help?
Is there still a monument in the village church connected to the Hensman family. My ancestors originated from Pytchley and I am at this time carrying out research into the Hensman family. If anyone has any information on the Hensman family I would be most grateful.
Many Thanks

Hi Meredith,
I just caught this link. Something you said caught my eye. you said your father is Richard Hensman, and his father was Arthur, and his father was Henry???
I'm currently trying to trace my own line, and am going on a family tree, given to my grandfather (Arthur Hensman), by his nephew Richard Hensman, who at the time lived in Tennessee. My granfathers father was also arthur, who's brother was Henry.
On the tree I have, there is my great grandfather arthur, who's brother is Henry, who had a son, Arthur, who's son is Richard. Also on the tree is mentioned Robert and Heather, his children.
It's this Richard Hensman that I'm trying to locate. In his letter to my grandfather in 1979 he mentioned that he had records of our line going back to the 1750's. Can you confirm an address for him in Hixon??? Please reply to me via direct email... thanks.
If this is unrelated to you, I apologise for the inconvenience.
Regards,
Sandra Hensman.

I have been doing research on the Heycocks and found there was a Henry Hensman who was the owner of Pytchley House. When he died, his cousin, Charles Heycock, inherited it in 1854.
I am trying to figure out the Heycock-Hensman connection.

hi
Well I am a Hensman from Zimbabwe but now living in South africa after the land seizures. I don't know much about our history but my fater is Rory Hensman and his father was Colin Hensman. I think they moved out to Africa in the early 1900.
Hope you can help and this helps.

Hi there,
We have just started doing out family tree and my father's is a Frank Hensman. He's an awkward old so-and-so because his father left for Australia and left him and his mother when he was 2 years old. Even though he sent for her, she couldn't raise the money to get out there. He was a Charles Hensman but we think he changed his surname to Watson or Walker??? Is this of any help to you?
Best wishes,
Jackie

I just reviewed this link, found it interesting that your family tree goes back to Bozeat, Northants as that is where my family originated.
Now in Colorado, I moved to US in '89 to Milwaukee from Rushden, Northants having previously lived in Felmersham, Bedfordshire.
Sounds like we may be from the same branch of Hensmans

I am one of the South African Hensmans, my parents (William and Patricia) moved out here about 30-odd years ago. My father was adopted by his mother's sister, after his mother moved to Canada to join his father there, immediately after his birth. Her surname was Hensman, I don't know his, or either of their first names. I am currently out of touch with even the adopted family of my father, but am looking for information on his biological family. If any of this sounds familiar to anyone, please get in touch.
The one clue I have is that while my father's adopted family passed on family names, both his and mine are not from that family, and so may be from his biological family.

Hi folks!
With all you sleuths out there, there has been a lot of information found and with a lot of wasted effort through duplication. Many people have got details of "unknown" relations, as (if like me) you copied, printed out, asked for originals, whatever, of anything to do with the Hensman name, regardless of link. Probably through sheer amazement that there are more people with our unusual and rare surname, you can't believe we're not all related. We are, but it's finding that all-important link 2 or 300 years ago. Anyone got back to the 1100s yet?! Find out more on that and other fascinating facts, soon.
My main forum has been genesreunited, but there's no immediate way to register the unknowns without the link to an existing person. This is one place I've seen mention of any unknowns found in the hope that someone requires the information, together with the willingness to share it.
Where's this all going? My aim is to start a new website exclusively for the Hensman surname where everything and anything can be located, and hopefully becomes a one-stop shop, er, website for any information found. That way it saves us trawling through many postings and not remembering where we saw that important information that someone else has.
The website is intended to be in addition to the other excellent tools such as GR or this brilliant forum. Use these mediums to talk to eachother, use mine to store it all. Thoughts? Suggestions? Please let me know.
By the way, my branch of the family originated from Piddington in Northamptonshire, Peter who has also posted to here is my Cousin
Many thanks in advance.
Andrew.
