Having just got a television with enough Scart sockets, we were thinking about connecting to Freeview as I know that Cheddington has coverage for this service.  However, with a TV aerial in the loft, we were wondering whether the signal is strong enough to connect to it without having to put an aerial on the roof instead (we live in Church Hill)?

Sue

When we got our old On Digital box years ago, we had to have an aerial upgrade but our new Freeview box actually works fine even if I connect the old loft aerial.

Before spending your £40 on a Freeview box you could try borrowing someone elses and plugging it in just in case!

Thanks for your advice Bill.  Another friend in the village has Freeview from a loft aerial, and so I decided to bite the bullet.  I bought the box this morning and it all seems to be working well, apart from a few channels where the picture is a bit fragmented.  It will certainly give us a lot more choice though!  Thanks once again.
